A Prayer for Peace
Through the beginning months of our journey, I prayed often for peace not only for myself but for my husband and my children. The Lord placed it on my heart to start a prayer journal but with all the mundane of the day to day I put it off. There are often times that the Lord places things on our hearts and minds but like me many choose not to make those things a priority. I had convinced myself I was too busy, this is the enemies way of pumping the breaks on God’s work. My thoughts were, There was too much on my plate to make time alone where I could journal. (This was an excuse and a MISTAKE!) If God gives you a sign or a nudge FOLLOW IT, even if it seems silly, even if you think you don’t have the time, or you are worried with what others will think…

As the month went on it was time for my husband to head back to work… This was a hard time as this meant he needed to go back to a place where he was spiritually tested daily. We made a plan together for him to finish his work out of state, so that he could come home to us for GOOD! This was yet another big turning point in our journey. The day for him to leave us for the last time came and he cried to me, apologizing for his short comings and asked me to pray for him. My response seemed like a shock to him, I said “I ALWAYS DO!” What happened in our past was fueling what was going to happen in our future. For him to acknowledge his down falls was HUGE, him asking me to pray, was a comforting sign. I needed to know that he could see GOD, he could see the HOPE in the power of prayer and I knew Jesus was working!
Dedicating Time for God
The night he left I decided to be obedient to both, my husband had asked me to pray and the LORD wanted me to to start journalling. So, I started a prayer journal just for my husband and our situation. Instead of praying in silent, I prayed through writing, I journaled every night for him through the day that he came home to us for GOOD! Little did I know how healing this journal would be for me as well! It was dedicated time for me to be honest with GOD. Time for me to hear him in a different way. I would write my concerns, my worries, my prayers and I would get to see how God moved in our situation and in our relationship in real time. I had so many signs and reassurances through this journal that I will be forever changed in my faith. I trusted God with the plans he had for us, how could I not with all that he was doing in our lives. Even though I trusted God, I still had worry and doubt in the day to day, but you can not allow yourself to be burdened by these things, for they were out of my control. I had surrendered all control to Jesus and I knew without a doubt that whatever was meant for us would be. I often refer to this scripture: Peter 5:7

I understand all the complexities these sins can bring about in your life but I also understand how his grace can cover and clean any impurity that you sin brings forth.
We have to be willing to love ourselves, love our spouses, friends, neighbors, as Jesus loves us. Setting aside ego, pride, and emotion, and allow ourselves to lead in faith. Knowing that our story is already written, he knows what is in store for us, and he is here to help us carry the burden through the storm so we can truly rest. In today’s world we lead so much by emotion, instead we need to become so solid in faith that we are in a state of unshakeable peace. Do not allow the enemy to take control of your life or your situation. Your faith alone can move mountains for not only yourself but for your friends and family.
Friends, trust me when I say this, if you truly ask Jesus to work in your situation he CAN and WILL move mountains. First, you just have to be ready to give up the reigns and step out of this was to let him work! I’m not saying it will be easy, but what he can do will repay you in ways that you could have never seemed imaginable. This has been the case for my family, and if he can do it for me, then he can do it for you! I am here today writing this blog as a nudge from God… Feeling lead to share our story in hopes to encourage another to take the step into Faith. He is with you, and he will not fail you, his love and grace is sufficient, it is everlasting and unconditional. He only wants your heart, your dedication, and your praise.
Feel free to contact me if you need a listening ear, a prayer warrior or just a friend! Also share our journey with anyone you know that may be struggling in their relationship or their faith.
